Creating Recurring Journals and Journal Templates

Created by Books Admin, Modified on Fri, 10 Apr at 1:25 PM by Books Admin

Recurring Similar to the workflow and functionality of recurring invoices, recurring Journal templates are just Journal entries with additional features that allow you to repeatedly generate new Journal entries at a particular frequency ("Repeat Every") for a specified period of time ("Start On" (required), and "End On" (optional).

When you create a recurring journal you will have the same fields that are able to be filled out, as well as the same required fields as when you are creating a one time Journal entry.

Templates In this section, you will be able to + Create Template, so that you can save your specified Journal entry details, and quickly apply these pre-filled templates when manually creating a new Journal entries at a later date. This feature allows for a bit more flexibility than recurring journals. This can be particularly helpful when a brokerage needs to repeatedly recreate a Journal entry, with slightly different information from entry to entry (e.g. a recurring journal entry with varying Debit/Credit amounts from month-to-month).
